Jobs of the Week: Service Tech in Victoria and Asset Recovery Tech in Burnaby

Two internal Microserve jobs this week and these are just two we have open

Last week was the Healthcare IT week, this week we're posting two Microserve jobs, one here in Burnaby and in Victoria (Saanichton, technically). These aren't the only jobs we have open either at Microserve or for clients—be sure to check out our careers page for all our open positions.

Asset Recovery Technician - Microserve Burnaby

Position Overview

The Asset Recovery Technician is responsible for deploying and retiring IT hardware in our branch locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Organizing and processing incoming warehouse inventory
  • Moving skids into Asset Recovery, helping our drivers load or un-load truck (when needed).
  • Protecting client data by wiping, destroying, and processing computer hard drives
  • Preparing skids of lease return inventory, prepare
  • Minor shipping related duties
  • Update paperwork and tickets within internal systems

Requirements:

  • 1+ year warehouse experience, preferably in an enterprise/business IT environment
  • Warehouse / Shipping receiving and paperwork experience
  • Organized and have the ability to multi-task
  • Good attention to detail
  • Basic computer user skills (Windows, Excel) an asset
  • Experience with computer hardware an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting or individually
  • Ability to be accountable to your team and other departments

Position requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal record check (CPIC)

Service Technician - Microserve Victoria (Saanichton)

Position Overview

The Service Technician works under general supervision; typically reports to the Technical Services Lead or Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains, deploys, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs printer systems, computer hardware and related peripherals.
  • Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems.
  • Perform diagnostic repairs and preventative maintenance for our clients in the local area
  • Trains and consults end users on printer functions as required.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years’ experience in the service and repair of computers and/or printers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive customer service
  • CompTIA (or similar) Certification considered an asset
  • Manufacturer certifications considered an asset
  • Knowledge of manufacturers service advisory and parts lookup processes considered an asset
  • Must have reliable vehicle and driver's license (we offer competitive mileage reimbursement)
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal record check (CPIC)
