Position Purpose and Summary:
Microserve is looking to add a Power Platform Architect / Developer to add to their ranks to help the team and clients to realize the potential of Power Platform solutions in combination with the Azure cloud platform. Both our internal teams and clients will trust you to provide solutions to problems because you understand what they need – and how to do it.  This role can be done remotely anywhere within Western Canada and will be reporting into our Vice President of Professional Services.

In this role, you will act as the clients advocate and have the authority on how specific systems, applications, or process designs can move their business forward.  You will collaborate with project teams in customizing, developing, integrating, and extending PowerApps and Power Platform to meet client needs. Where Power Platform is not the right fit, you will be responsible to research, evaluate, recommend, and implement appropriate “off the shelf” software as necessary. Working with technology and design teams to support your clients, you will identify challenges on the horizon and support constant improvement. 

Who are you?

  • You are an experienced Power Platform expert, with a previous life spent as a 'traditional' software developer, using languages/technologies such as C#.NET, Java, MVC or similar.
  • You are capable and confident in choosing the correct application of no-code/low-code solutions and how these fit into a company's wider IT Landscape, including Data Platforms, CRM/ERP systems etc.
  • You have excellent communications skills
  • You are adept at mapping business needs to technology solutions and helping non-technical audiences understand the benefits of these solutions.  

Key Areas of Accountability:

  • Infrastructure and software architecture using a cloud-first services approach and including migration design, planning and execution
  • Working with various Microserve teams and stakeholders to architect and build new PowerApps and Power Platform technologies
  • Strong understanding of when to use of native features and when it is appropriate to use custom development
  • Client interaction – requirements gathering, workshops, and transition to operations support
  • Power Platform evangelism, both internally and externally
  • Technical oversight including close review of documentation, designs and implemented solutions alike, for solution assurance down to code level
  • Developing Azure logic apps
  • Developing Azure functions Providing Power BI development and support.
  • Working with project team members to develop a solution that includes scope, assumptions, implementation plan, and technology solution options to meet project goals as well as longer term needs.
  • Provide hands-on-keyboard implementation and development as required 
  • Acquire required Azure technical certification 
  • Work with stakeholder groups to review, identify, clarify and prioritize business and technical requirements
  • Identify, assess, and propose the right trade-offs to meet non-functional requirements
  • Work closely with the Application Services team to provide the appropriate monitoring mechanisms for the deployed architectures.
  • Provide support and technical governance, expertise related to Power platform architectures, deployment, and operations.
  • Define optimal design patterns, roadmap and solutions for high availability business applications
  • Identify high-level risks as part of the project planning processes
  • Provide input into Project Charter development
  • Keep up to date with market trends and competitive insights
  • Have a broad understanding of technology and a deep understanding of Microserve’s service portfolio. You couple your knowledge of technology and security to maximize the value of solutions for our clients by effectively translating how our solutions can be leveraged to achieve strategic business goals.
  • Constant focus continuous improvement and proactively brining ideas for new technologies to our clients jointly explore potential opportunities to improve; presenting business case(s) for implementation to Microserve and client leadership, as and when required.
  • Analyzing requests and specific business needs presented by business units and then researching, recommending, designing, and implementing technology solutions as per the agreed technology plan 

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in the Microsoft Power Platform – MS PowerApps, MS Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, and PowerBI
  • Experience in the analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of enterprise scale apps.
  • Ability to mentor and train business and technical teams on use of Power Automate
  • Experience developing new PowerApps model and canvas driven apps as well as modernizing existing apps
  • Knowledge of and experience with licensing and automating business processes with Microsoft Power Automate
  • Experience with API or REST services integrations
  • Understanding of how to implement solutions with multiple data sources
  • Willing to learn latest Microsoft enterprise cloud technologies such as Dynamics 365 CRM, Office 365, Microsoft Azure.

  • Good working knowledge on .Net, C#, ASP.Net MVC, SQL Server, Entity Framework, JavaScript, SSL, web services, HTML and CSS

  • Intellectual curiosity and passion for technology to stay informed on industry trends.
