Product Manager (18-20 Month Contract)

Responsibilities including but not limited to
  • Manage M365 suite of collaboration products and related productivity-based solutions
    • Works with technical team members and stakeholders to ensure success of the product feature delivery and adoption.
    • Drives the vision, strategy and roadmap for M365 products in consultation with the IT/OPEX management team.
    • Ensures adoption of enterprise tools.
  • Participate in developing product visions, plans and processes.
    • Provides recommendations to the Associate Director, IT Project Portfolio Management (PPM), for product visions and plans and implements the department’s product goals and objectives to support the plan.
    • Recommends and implements policies and procedures related to the use and management of data, information and systems.
    • Provides recommendations on the processes designed to ensure the confidentiality, security, and stewardship of data, including compliance with freedom of information and protection of privacy legislation.
  • Evaluation, planning, requirements, testing, implementation, and maintenance of information technology products:
    • Participates in the product design and leads the requirements analysis of solutions. Reviews and provides recommendations to the Associate Director, IT Project Portfolio Management for project and product requests. Anticipates the need for software tools to enhance the efficiency of the the client’s information systems.
    • Contributes to the high-level and functional requirements, development, quality assurance and user acceptance testing, performs reviews and analysis.
    • Participates in the IT Systems architecture, design and planning activities.
  • Responsible for the management of human resources
    • Provides effective leadership and direction to the business analyst team by establishing goals, objectives and priorities, and fosters effective teamwork among employees.
    • In collaboration with the Associate Director, IT Product Management initiates recruitment of staff and recommends hiring decisions and disciplinary actions.
    • Directs, schedules, and assigns duties to staff; reviews work for accuracy and completeness.
Education and Skills
  • Undergraduate degree in computing science or equivalent information technology discipline.
  • Eight (8) years of recent related senior level experience including a minimum of six (6) years of business analysis, four (4) years of product design, four (4) years of product management. Experience should also include a minimum two (2) years of team leadership and two (2) years of project management
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong practical knowledge of project and product management principles, methods and practices
  • Solid understanding of product design and business analysis methodologies, tools, and techniques, and agile practices.
  • Experience in M365 suite of tools, including but not limited to SharePoint Online, Groups, Teams, Yammer, Exchange and OneDrive required.
  • Experience in requirement analysis and business process re-engineering required.
  • Prior experience in agile methodologies preferred.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft SharePoint, OneDrive file sync, and Microsoft Teams strongly preferred.
  • Experience with data analysis using Power BI, Excel Pivot Tables, or other similar tools preferred.
  • Ability to operate at advanced levels of authority and manage significant activities and resources to produce and take responsibility for results.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise staff and special initiatives.
  • Demonstrated integrity, independent thinking, judgment, and respect for others.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and to provide excellent customer service to all clients.
  • Ability to develop, plan, execute and complete multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to effectively meet deadlines and organizational requirements.
  • Ability to maintain a broad knowledge of current technology and practices in information systems and technology.
  • Ability to interpret and comply with policies, procedures and regulations.
