Project Manager (6 Month Contract)

Staffing Placement Opportunity

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provides senior leadership to core program management work streams (i.e. SSP, I&T, Service Management & Delivery, plus others as required)
  • Supervises a Business Analyst and works closely with Project Coordinator to ensure core program/project artifacts and deliverables are produced and maintained (e.g. charters, RAID Logs, SharePoint Document repository, etc.)
  • Develops and manages various project plans, inclusive of: key deliverables / milestones, critical path tasks, project dependencies / interdependencies, etc. and ensures all changes/updates are managed and progress is tracked and communicated against the plan(s)  
  • Applies best practice project management methodology(s)
  • Executes project plan according to  project methodologies, ensuring successful and coordinated completion of all project components
  • Facilitates consensus with stakeholders as needed and ensures project activities / tasks are completed according to agreed upon timelines
  • In conjunction with Program Manager, develops mitigations / contingency plans, and where appropriate, brings stakeholders together to resolve issues / barriers
  • Supports the Program Manager with the coordination / preparation of agenda(s) and other related meeting & planning materials 
  • Ensure risks, issues and actions have been appropriately assessed and are effectively monitored and tracked
  • Implements or contributes to the implementation of effective processes to assess risks, identify risk and mitigation strategies
  • Maintain associated documentation including plans, charters, contracts, RAID logs, project change requests, etc.
  • Leads meetings, facilitate discussions, and ensure that meeting outputs are clearly documented 
  • Utilizes initiative, vision, independent thinking and creative problem-solving abilities to implement project plans and realize project completion
  • Other Project Management duties as required


Specific Qualifications or Experience Required
  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration or relevant health care discipline
  • A minimum of seven (7) year’s recent, related experience in project management and facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups. 
  • Meet the criteria for a senior-level Project Manager.
  • Experience or working knowledge of quality improvement methodology, change management and chronic disease management is key to the success of this role. 
  • Excellent communication skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment including ability to communicate with the physician community. 
  • Computer literacy with word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management and database applications.    
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation considered an asset.
