Microserve’s Vice President & General Manager, Heather Schaan, has been recognized as a CDN 2016 Women in the IT Channel honouree. There were four women selected to receive this recognition at the annual CDN Women of the Channel Luncheon on August 24 at the Weston Golf & Country Club. The other three honourees included Vice President and General Manager Grace Martins, Ottawa-based CMO Lynda Partner, and IT Pioneer Norma Tidd. Also recognized was Tania Galovic as the 2016 CDN winner of the Rising Star award.

Heather is recognized for her contribution to the IT channel in Canada as well as to Microserve. The theme of this year’s event was “Pay It Forward”. Heather is passionate about supporting diversity in the workplace and the responsibility of all businesses to have a positive impact on their communities and stakeholders.
“I’m extremely honoured to receive this recognition,” Heather says, “There are so many amazingly talented and accomplished women in the IT community in Canada, and I’m proud to be included in their ranks. I’m very grateful to have been invited to participate in this event that highlights the accomplishments and value of women in the Canadian IT industry, and also reminds us that we have so far to go to achieve real gender equality in our industry.”
