Jobs of the Week: Inside Sales at Microserve and Oracle ERP System Analyst
Like last week we’re highlighting a position open here at Microserve and a position our IT Staffing experts a filling for a client.

Oracle ERP System Analyst (Contract)

Microserve’s client requires a System Analyst to join its team in Vancouver. This is a contract position (40 hours per week) for 6 months the potential for an extension for and additional 3 months each as approved by the client.

Responsibilities

The Systems Analyst is expected to lead in the development of systems changes/enhancements through all phases of the life cycle. The Systems Analyst will be able to lead or facilitate the design phase, working with the business and senior technical staff to ensure requirements, as well as DA and DBA requirements is satisfied. Works with programmers to ensure development standards are maintained and required documents are delivered.

Requirements

The following requirements should be identified for the individual candidate(s) the Proponent is proposing to enable a complete evaluation. The Systems Analysts must be able to demonstrate that each have:

  • A degree or diploma in information technology, computer science or similar field preferred and/or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Understanding of OOP and OOD techniques, methods, and modules;
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle;
  • Knowledge of SOA principles;
  • Experience with system integration (package & legacy);
  • Strong PL/SQL and Oracle DB / SQL Server competency;
  • Knowledge and recognition of the benefits of adherence to systems lifecycle methodologies;
  • Strong communication and written skills and experience creating Technical Design Documentation; and
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Other Skills

The following skills and experience are desirable and will enhance this category, but will not eliminate the Proponent’s candidate from consideration. The Systems Analysts should clearly identify if they each have:

  • Experience with ORACLE e-Business 11i applications and the associated ORACLE development and reporting tools;
  • Experience with .NET and/or JAVA;
  • Experience with supply chain systems including retail, forecasting replenishment, etc;
  • Experience leading small project teams (3-5 people) including application developers, business area users and technical resources;
  • Experience in identifying key project milestones and producing project deliverables. (e.g. test plans, migration plans);
  • Experience with JDA software (JDA Store and Enterprise Store Operations);
  • Knowledge of liquor industry business model in BC; and
  • Working knowledge of MS-Project, MS-Office and Visio.

Inside Sales Representative at Microserve

As an Inside Sales Rep you will work with Microserve Account Executives and clients to support and recommend the best technology solution for their requirements, including a combination of client devices, peripherals and infrastructure products (hardware, software and services). The Inside Sales Representative will also provide clients with pricing and availability information, place and track orders, keep clients updated on the status of all orders, and follow up post-delivery to ensure customer satisfaction.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Position and sell Microserve’s full range of IT solutions and services to new and existing clients either independently or as part of a larger account team
  • Collaboratively work with Account Executives and Services for client opportunities
  • Identify and leverage manufacture and supplier resources to help facilitate customer requirements
  • Follow up on leads and client inquiries
  • Gather information on client business requirements in order to propose best-fit technology solutions
  • Research and understand technology solution and product options
  • Maintain a strong understanding of vendor pricing programs
  • Select the best-fit products for IT infrastructure solutions, including creating and validating solution configurations
  • Produce and present quotes and proposals to clients
  • Respond to client RFQs and other types of procurement requests independently or as part of a larger response team
  • Follow up with client in order to complete sale and ensure successful delivery
  • Participate in call-based and other marketing or lead generation campaigns as required
  • Complete manufacturer sales training and certifications as requested.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships and look for opportunities to grow relationships with assigned accounts

Requirements

  • Exposure to all phases in the sales process is strongly preferred
  • Relevant post-secondary education is highly desirable
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner as well as within a team
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Experience working in the IT industry is an asset
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office is a requirement
  • Technical skills including capability to do light configurations of servers and PC’s
