Position Overview: 

We are looking for a Tech Centre Team Lead to join and lead our Warehouse Team in Calgary, AB in our brand-new Warehouse.  The Tech Centre Team Lead will be reporting into the Tech Centre Manager who is based out of our Edmonton, AB Warehouse. They will be the primary source of leadership presence in our Calgary Warehouse and liaise with our Edmonton teams. 

The Tech Centre Team Lead will be responsible for the direction of workflow of our 3 key teams which operates out of the Warehouse: 

  1. Warehousing Operations Team – Responsible for Receiving, Picking and Shipping. They will manage and work with the warehouse team to ensure that we are efficiently receiving and processing incoming inventory, making necessary verifications against purchase orders and logging incoming waybills. They will work with the picking team to ensure accurate and timely picking. They will work with the shipping team to meet onsite delivery requirements via multiple shipping methods.

  2. Configuration Team – Responsible for configuration of new computers for clients, and computer hardware repairs.  Troubleshooting and imaging large volumes of PCs and printers

  3. Asset Recovery Team – Responsible for retiring IT hardware in our Tech Centre and ensuring that all Asset Recovery operations are seamless.

Responsibilities: 

Warehouse Operations:

  • Provide support and training to the Warehouse team as needed in the following areas:

    • As required to the Picking, Receiving, and Shipping teams

    • Organizing and processing incoming warehouse inventory

    • Ensure accurate and timely picking process with daily oversight

    • Moving skids and helping drivers load or un-load truck (when needed).

    • Process orders and documents for shipping; Coordinate shipping with couriers

    • Update paperwork and tickets/sales orders within internal systems

    • Ensuring good housekeeping and safety procedures and maintained in the Warehouse. 

Configuration Team:

  • Proactively ensure service delivery is aligned to client needs, handle client escalations and constantly strive to improve the client experience

  • Perform administrative tasks including performance reviews and leave management in ADP

  • Motivate the team to reach assigned targets

  • Prioritize and distribute daily tasks to the team

  • Meet all shipping deadlines

  • Ensure all client service levels are met

  • Focus on improving efficiency, utilization, productivity, revenue, and customer satisfaction through process improvement and innovation

Asset Recovery Team:

  • Organize and process incoming warehouse inventory

  • Move skids into Asset Recovery and help our drivers load or un-load truck as required

  • Protect client data by wiping, destroying, and processing computer hard drives

  • Prepare skids of lease return inventory,

  • Update paperwork and tickets within internal systems

General Responsibilities:

  • Ability to handle rush projects and dealing with ambiguity/multitasking with a customer first approach.

  • Resolution and mitigation of operational incidents.

  • Convert products into customer assets by supporting invoicing processes as per customer agreements within specified timelines

  • Help resolve operational challenges and provide real-time advice for escalations, issues and errors

  • Act as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding warehouse operations/escalations.

  • Answer calls, emails, and chat for resolution

  • Work with internal resources to identify and resolve productivity/application issues.

  • Advise stakeholders and connect them to the appropriate team, for non-warehouse related issues

  • Collaborate with project coordinators, truck drivers and other stakeholders as required to ensure seamless operations

  • Streamline warehouse operations to reduce errors and improve efficiency

  • Conduct periodic cycle counts

  • Perform ad hoc inventory counts and related item searches

  • Perform administrative tasks including performance reviews and leave management in ADP

  • Work on process improvement and innovation with focus on improving efficiency, utilization, productivity, revenue and customer satisfaction.

  • Actively participate in Leadership meetings, Team building, and Operational meetings

  • Support training of all new team members on all teams

  • Support other departments in the Tech Centre as necessary, depending on workload

  • Ensure compliance with internal and client policies regarding physical and logical data security

  • Escalate all security concerns to the Tech Centre Manager immediately

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements as identified by Microserve and our clients 

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a Warehousing industry with good working knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures

  • Leadership skills in an IT warehouse type environment is considered a huge asset.

  • Experience in handling pallet jack / forklift usage (certification for forklift operation highly preferred)

  • Good working knowledge of computer hardware, preferably from an enterprise or business environment

  • Knowledge of software installation and troubleshooting in a Windows environment is considered an asset

  • Experience in PC assembly or repair is considered an asset

  • CompTIA A+ certification (or a similar vendor-specific certification) is preferred

Position Specific Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Must be able to pass a criminal record check (CPIC)

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • 2Acknowledges that IT service delivery for a large client is not always completed within a set work-schedule and demonstrated flexibility to work outside of regular hours on short notice as the situation warrants in order to ensure client satisfaction
